Hamburg has a vibrant, multifaceted and internationally connected contemporary art scene. The FOUNDING EDITION of CROSSING CURRENTS unites these energies for the first time, creating a platform that amplifies their visibility and ignites new channels of exchange.

Currents

Six colour-coded Art Routes, called CURRENTS, trace pathways through Hamburg, each with its own character. Spanning the city over four days, they reveal the breadth of Hamburg’s visual art scene through an interconnected network.

CURRENT AFFAIRS invites voices from the international arts and cultural sectors to reflect on Hamburg’s evolving art ecosystem. Two panel discussions consider the potential of an Art Week to transform the city.

Undercurrents

UNDERCURRENTS is Hamburg Art Week’s night programme which takes place at the legendary Golden Pudel Club, bringing together music, DJs and late-night events.

The Hamburg Art Week programme is complemented by the two established formats, Walk&Talk and add art, which feature additional gallery tours and art in a corporate context.
